TEDxCluj 2012 Conference

People may die, nations may rise and fall, but an idea lives on forever. Still, what makes the difference between an idea and a big idea? Big ideas are born out of complete chaos and they are almost always attached to an emotion which can be so strong that you feel like moving mountains. A feeling that makes you take action, that keeps you up all night and which can't wait to become something real. Just anything.

A big idea has a fresh feel to it and challenges you to put your creativity at work through innovation. Such ideas get our attention, stimulate our brain and even guide our emotional system. You feel so good when you get a big idea! That is why big ideas are very powerful intellectual tools. Paradoxically, they are simple and easy to grasp. A big idea helps us find the very meaning of apparently isolated, lifeless or baffling things. And the beauty of a big idea comes from one's capacity to find useful links between bits of knowledge.

When we get big ideas, we understand better the essence of human thought and conscience while being in touch with who we are. We navigate through life easier, happy, energized and enthused.

A big idea is human nature at its purest: desire, courage, pain, freedom, fear, the power of judgment, hate, ease, adulation, knowledge, secret, communication....TedxCluj.

Trying to show the beauty of human nature, the team at TEDxCluj interviewed a group of 4-year-old kindergarten students and asked them: "What do you think a big idea is all about?" Here are their answers:
"A big idea means that you're thinking of a big idea, you need to focus a lot and get the perfect idea"
"A big idea is a very good idea that helps you find secret passageways..."
"A big idea is a disaster!"
"A big idea is to eat lentil cream soup."
"A big idea is to invite the Sun to sit at our table."
"A big idea means that a very good idea crosses your mind!"
"A big idea is a good plan."
"A big idea is to go outside!!"
"A big idea is to have a great secret!"

On the 2nd of June 2012, TEDxCLUJ invites you to discover big ideas from speakers who promote their powerful ideas. TED means Talks about Technology Entertainment and Design. "TedxCluj -What's the big idea" seeks to share ideas worth hearing or understanding. There will be speakers people who are top of the class in their business, as well as people who can share a common sense idea. Or just people who set an example, leaving us speechless.
